Pottery Jerusalem Ltd ("Pottery Jerusalem", "we", "us" or "our"), Company No. 512483967, registered in Israel at Yoel Moshe Salomon 15, Jerusalem 9422101, operates the website potteryjerusalem.pro and the ceramic studio and workshop services described herein. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information in accordance with the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, 5741–1981 and its associated regulations, the guidelines of the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority, and reflecting the principles of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as a matter of best practice for international visitors.

2. Data We Collect

  • Identity and contact data: name, email address and phone number provided when booking a workshop, contacting us or signing up for our newsletter.
  • Booking data: workshop type, date, group size and any special requests or accessibility requirements noted at the time of booking.
  • Children's programme data: for participants under 18 in our children's sessions, we collect the parent or guardian's contact information and require on-site parental or guardian presence or signed written consent for minors attending alone. We do not collect data directly from children under 13.
  • Gallery purchase data: name, shipping address and billing information for studio piece purchases. Full card details are handled by our payment processor only.
  • Residency application data: portfolio materials, artist statements and biographical information submitted as part of the studio residency application process. This information is treated with strict confidentiality.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device and website usage data collected via cookies when you visit potteryjerusalem.pro.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To process workshop bookings, send confirmations and reminders.
  • To communicate pre-workshop preparation guidance and post-workshop piece collection notifications.
  • To process gallery purchases and arrange delivery.
  • To review studio residency applications fairly and confidentially.
  • To send our studio newsletter and event announcements (with your consent).
  • To improve our website and services through anonymised analytics.
  • To comply with Israeli financial, consumer protection and safety regulations.

4. Children's Data

Our children's pottery sessions (ages 5–12) require a parent or guardian to provide contact information and to be present for drop-off and collection. We collect the child's first name only for studio record-keeping, and we do not retain any further personal data about child participants beyond what is necessary to manage the session and arrange piece collection. No child's data is used for marketing purposes.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies to enable website functionality and analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our site. You may manage your preferences via the floating pill consent bar at the bottom of your first visit. Declining non-essential cookies does not affect your ability to make a booking or use the contact form.

6. Data Sharing

  • With our booking management software under a data processing agreement.
  • With our payment processor (Stripe or equivalent, PCI-DSS compliant) for gallery purchases.
  • With courier and postal services when delivering purchased studio pieces.
  • With email service providers for transactional and newsletter communications.
  • With Israeli authorities when legally required.

Residency application materials are shared only with the designated selection panel. We do not sell personal data.

7. Retention

Workshop booking records are retained for 3 years. Purchase records are retained for 7 years for accounting purposes. Residency application data is retained for 2 years. Marketing consent is retained until withdrawn. Technical/cookies data is anonymised within 26 months.

8. Your Rights

Under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law (5741–1981), and consistent with GDPR principles, you have the right to:

  • Access and receive a copy of personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion where we have no ongoing legal basis to retain it.
  • Withdraw consent to marketing or non-essential cookies at any time without penalty.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority (PPA).

9. Security

We use HTTPS/TLS encryption for all web data transmission, password-protected internal systems and locked physical storage for paper booking records at our Jerusalem studio. Staff are trained on privacy obligations. We conduct annual reviews of our data handling practices.

10. International Transfers

Our email and analytics service providers may be located outside Israel. Where data is transferred outside Israel we ensure that equivalent protection is in place through contractual standard clauses or recognised adequacy arrangements.

11. Policy Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The revision date is shown at the top. Continued use of our website or services after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
